Characters have to be twisted and torn apart because of their deep feelings. It is really surprising to see the ratings some movies get. As I write this "Jeux d'enfants" has got a 7.6 on IMDb. I do not really understand why the do what they do. They seem to be crazy children all their lives.

The subjects covered are well chosen and diverse, and you really get perspective on how widespread and potentially devastating our manipulation of the natural world has become. Perhaps it may seem that I overstate my appreciation for this movie. But, when you see the extraordinary compilation of beauty, work and effort that went into creating this work of ART, you may agree. It spotlights one case in history to show what happens when a society doesn't react to the damage it is doing to its own environment. Probably one of the best movies of 2009 and one of the best documentaries of the year as well.

Very interesting and surprising film starring one of my favorite actress, Isabelle Huppert.

This movie talks about humans, not just their achievements but the economic chaos we've wrought on each other. Devised by a four piece writing team, including Meier and fellow upcoming European auteur Olivier Lorelle , it's perhaps no wonder how every character in the family is fleshed out. This is crass and exploitative stuff that feels too contrived – despite the child peril, lingering shots of knives and the increasingly demented behaviour of Louise – to build much in the way of real tension.

This film's comedy is based entirely on vicious, childish attacks that are not funny at all. Even after the kids grow up, they retain their malicious mean streak and selfish disregard for the entire world outside themselves. Well, maybe you'll find it funny if you're the kind of kid who likes to tear the wings off of flies.

But it's somewhat important to understand this history, for points made later in the film. The movie was released on the internet, television and internet on the same day. It's on YouTube in its entirety, but I downloaded a high quality version from One Big Torrent which was very nice to watch. The narration is top-notch, arranged in perfect logic sense and fueled with precise and profound wording, reminds me of audio versions of Scientific American. It is the story of a family who live in a house close to a yet-to-be-finished highway - very close, like right at the guardrail. There is absolutely nothing else in the area. It is not clear whether they own the house or are squatters.

Nevertheless, it's definitively recommended, if not just for Close and the beauty. At times I felt like I was watching The Lion King but without the lovable, funny characters. At other times it felt like a high school science class documentary. Other times it feels like a National Geographic film but without the top-notch awe-inspiring action shots of animals in their natural environment.

Other times it feels like some kind of Zen, inspirational film but without any actual insightful words of wisdom. Some might think this documentary is so emotive that it's more of a propaganda despite how fact-based it is, but isn't a subject like this meant to be emotive? Vastly connected with the daily life of everyone and the fate of the human race, the movie left me steeped in thoughts. Like said many times in the movie, everything is linked, I find tons of images flashing in my head rapidly after watching Home, and more importantly, now I look at them linked together in a meaningful way.

It's the skill of Ursula Meier, the director and co-writer, to bring us to those fraught passages by rational stages. What happens would not make sense in many households, but in this one, it represents a certain continuity, and confirms deep currents we sensed almost from the first. The film, which was available for free release until 14 June, has been broadcast in 14 languages. The Blu-ray edition was released by 20th Century Fox and features both the English and French versions.

The director Ursula Meier is extremely accurate in providing details of family situation which grow the feeling of anxiety and claustrophobia. Even the monster is changing along the time as the limitation of the family habits increases. At first the problem is crossing road, then the limitation of their privacy when drivers stuck in traffic watch them in their home, then again pollution and noise.
